In many rural Ugandan villages around Mityana, widowed women and elderly grandmothers carry the immense physical and financial burden of raising orphaned grandchildren while coping with failing health, extreme poverty, and social isolation.
The Women and Elderly Care Ministry of MCPCM, led by Kusemererwa Hope and pastoral team members, meets these vulnerable mothers at their point of deepest need. We do not provide mere temporary handouts; we equip women with vocational artisan training, tailoring machines, agricultural inputs, and micro-savings circles so they can earn an honest, sustainable living with their own hands.
“She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks... She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.”
— Proverbs 31:17, 20Hands-on training in machine sewing, garment making, basket weaving, and beadwork that generate dependable income in local markets.
Village savings groups, small business bookkeeping, and micro-grant seed capital helping mothers start small trade shops.
Monthly emergency food relief parcels (posho, beans, cooking oil, soap) and home visits to frail and elderly community members.
Weekly women's prayer meetings, bereavement comfort, discipleship, and a loving community of sisters standing together in faith.
